Benefits of Choosing Serviced Office Space
May 31, 2010 Uncategorized
The following article outlines why a serviced rented office space can be a better solution than the conventional lease when it comes to finding the right place of business.
Particularly during the present unstable economy, committing to a lengthy lease agreement or mortgage for their place of business is a risk companies are increasingly wary of taking. In contrast, serviced rented office space is increasingly becoming the perfect solution for many business owners.
A serviced office, also known as an executive suite or business centre, is a fully equipped office or building which is owned or leased by a facility management company. They then rent the office space to other companies on a much more flexible basis than conventional leased offices. By using a business centre, companies benefit from short term rental or licence agreements that allow them to simply move in and easily move out as needed. Since tenants can share reception services, business equipment and other office related resources, serviced offices provide access to facilities that might otherwise cause a strain on finances.
The wealth of prime locations available, flexible lease terms and convenience of managed facilities plus skilled reception staff are just a few of the reasons business owners are turning to the serviced office space solution.
Payment flexibility
Rather than getting tied down to a legally binding and lengthy lease agreement, rented office space allows you to choose how you want to pay, whether short term or long term, at an hourly, daily, monthly or annual fee. This gives you the option to move locations or expand to a bigger office space without any fuss.
Impressive savings
You can choose from a huge range of attractive office spaces that are fully serviced at approximately 60-70% of the cost it takes to equip and staff a conventional office. If you choose to relocate, you will also save nicely on the cost of moving. Lastly, you will have the peace of mind in knowing that if you want to change locations you won’t be tied to a lengthy and pricey lease agreement.
Jump in running
Rented office space allows companies, whether large or small, to move in and commence business almost immediately. In contrast, setting up conventional offices can be a lengthy process – searching for the right location and lease agreement, buying office equipment and furniture, hiring office staff – all these necessities are already provided for in a business centre.
Location that suits
There is an abundance of business centre locations across the UK to choose from – from prime hot spots to places conveniently situated near your home. Two of the most popular cities companies choose as their business centre are London and Manchester, both hubs of thriving commerce.
Low capital investment
The cost and bother of buying office equipment, furniture and setting up the reception area as well as kitchen can be a huge strain. With serviced rented office space, you simply move in and have everything already in place, including attractive decor.
Maximised operations
When using a business centre, you already have highly trained administration and reception staff on hand who are skilled at performing their tasks to budget and within time constraints. This also has the benefit of allowing your core staff to concentrate purely on developing and marketing your business, rather than losing their productivity to the operation of the office.
Solutions for all types of businesses
No matter what your type of business, serviced offices can offer the space and rental agreement that suits your exact needs. For start-up or entrepreneurial companies, making a long term lease commitment is a great risk since they are not yet established. On the other side of the spectrum, companies that are experiencing growth and have run out of space in their current location can conveniently solve the overflow of new staff. This also applies to companies headquartered overseas but who need a place of presence for their operations in a different country. Business centres are also ideal as a short term solution for companies that are transitioning to a new location but are experiencing delays in its completion, as well as for project based organisations such as film production teams or lawyers working on a large case.
All in all, serviced rented office space can give companies the head start they need – from a prime location to professional staff and fully equipped resources. These days there is such a wealth of appealing business centres available across the country, it is seriously worth considering.
Houston Home Painters
May 31, 2010 Uncategorized
If you’re moving into a new home or ready for a change, it’s not uncommon to cringe at the color of your walls. Even if you’re in love with the color of your home décor, paint jobs need to be redone every 5-7 years, and even more frequently for your exterior siding. While many home improvement projects may fall under the purview of the DIYer, home painting is unique in that very few homeowners can’t get paint rollers and brushes and paint their own homes.
On the other hand, if you’ve ever tried to tackle a medium or large-sized painting job, you know it takes a lot more time and energy that it seems at first. Houston home painters take the pain out of the paint and give you revitalized walls and ceilings without giving you a headache. Plus, some homeowners don’t have the mobility (and a pain-free back) to be hauling furniture around and then crouch down near the floor with a repetitive arm motion.
Health Blog Q&A: ‘Superbug’ Author on Protecting Your Kid from MRSA
May 25, 2010 Uncategorized
There’s news of a sharp increase in kids hospitalized with MRSA: over the decade that ended in 2008, the incidence of drug-resistant staph rose to 21 cases for every 1,000 hospital admissions from two cases.
We wanted to learn more about how kids acquire MRSA, not in the hospital but in the course of everyday life — which was the situation for most of the cases in the report. So we turned to Maryn McKenna, author of “Superbug: The Fatal Menace of MRSA,” for the scoop. Here are edited excerpts from our chat:
How worried should parents be about MRSA?
I think they should be more worried than most currently are. Most people aren’t aware of how widespread community MRSA is. But that’s not to say they should be paranoid or paralyzed with fear; I do think it’s something, however, that they should keep in the back of their minds.
How is MRSA passed around?
The best estimates say 30% of the population walks around with drug-sensitive staph and 1.5% walk around with MRSA. That doesn’t necessarily make those people sick. But there are certain situations in which the risk of going from a carrier to an actively infected state increases. Those include living in very close quarters, as in the military; the kind of lack of cleanliness you might see in prisons; contaminated surfaces, as in hospitals or gyms; and situations of skin-to-skin contact.
The last two are important for parents. Contact sports is one mode of infection. A kid carrying MRSA on the skin without knowing it crashes into another kid. He might either transfer it to the other kid — who may have a slight difference in his immune system that makes him more vulnerable to infection — or he may get scraped, which can break the natural protection of the skin and lets the bacterium into the body. The bacterium may also [be able to] start an infection on intact skin.
How can parents protect their kids?
The happy answer is that simple hygiene solves a lot of this. Wash your hands a lot. Be good about getting clean after sports. Don’t share towels or equipment.
What symptoms should raise alarm bells?
For the kind of infection that starts without a scrape, on intact skin, the way that people describe it is that it looks like a spider bite — spiders do not carry MRSA, but this may look like a bite. Usually it’s a pimple or pustule that comes on quickly and hurts out of all proportion to its size. If there’s angry redness and it spreads quickly, that’s a signal to make a phone call quickly. The second sign is that if your child has a known scrape or contusion and you start noticing some skin inflammation — red rashy stuff — particularly if it’s accompanied by a fever. And the third thing is that one of the new and really troubling manifestations of community MRSA is that it combines with flu and produces a really bad pneumonia. That’s a really strong argument for giving kids a flu shot.
The Pan-African Parliament; another level of poor governance
May 25, 2010 Uncategorized
When we talk about poor governance in Africa it’s usually concentrated on the individual countries. A story today exposes another ineffective level of government, the Pan-African Parliament. The Parliament is one of several regional governments that is seen as week and ineffective, so much so that many Africans are unaware of it’s existence. These regional governments have multi-million dollar budgets but are unable to make positive change.
From the Globe and Mail, Geoffrey York first gives us some good news on governance before moving onto the Pan-African Parliament.
Several countries – including Ghana, Tanzania, Botswana, Liberia, Malawi and Mauritius – are winning praise for their democratic elections, their increasing stability, or their efforts to tackle corruption. Ghana has been one of the most successful, holding a series of free and fair elections whose results are accepted by all sides. Even the African Union, founded in 2002 to represent the 53 nations of the continent, is gaining some respect for its refusal to tolerate military coups and its efforts to persuade regimes to hold free elections – even though it has signally failed to deal with veteran autocrats such as Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
The Pan-African Parliament is a reminder of the grand ambitions that have often faded into disappointment. Set up by the African Union in 2004 after years of planning, PAP has a budget of more than $14-million (U.S.) this year, including $1.5-million for salaries and $40,000 for hospitality. Another $100-million has been allocated for a new headquarters. Yet the body meets only twice a year, usually for just seven or eight days in Johannesburg, and it has no real powers. It’s merely an advisory body, which the African Union can easily ignore.
“We are, in my view, a toothless bulldog,” said Ambrose Dery, a lawyer from Ghana who has served as a member of the Pan-African Parliament for the past year.
“I think the PAP is not doing enough. We don’t have legislative powers. The AU decides when to consult you and when not to consult you. Between our meetings, we have a limited scope of action. We are part-timers. We come here twice a year. How effective can we be?”
When the Parliament was created in 2004, it was envisioned that within five years it would have legislative powers and its members would be directly elected. Instead its members are still appointed by the legislatures of the 47 member countries – including many that are authoritarian or military-dominated. Some of the member countries have been suspended for military coups, or placed under sanctions, so PAP currently has fewer than the 235 parliamentarians it should have.
Mr. Dery says he has seen little evidence that PAP is tackling key problems such as corruption. In fact, the Parliament itself was embroiled in allegations of nepotism and financial misappropriation after auditors could not account for nearly $1-million in spending. Its founding president was accused of misusing some of the money.
“You can only check corruption when you have oversight responsibility,” Mr. Dery said. “The budget of the AU is supposed to be submitted to us, but it is not submitted. We can’t compel them to submit it. We cannot call any head of state and say, ‘Look, you’ve done something wrong.’ We don’t have those powers.”
Volvo and Costco Team Up to Bring Savings To Cash-Strapped Consumers
May 24, 2010 Uncategorized
With the recent downturn in the American economy, Volvo Cars of North America is combating the resulting sales struggle with a tried-and-true method-a promotional partnership with the Costco Auto Program.
Hoping to repeat their successful December holiday promotion targeted to Costco members, which generated more than $40 million in sales of Volvo’s XC90 SUV, Volvo has partnered with the Costco Auto Program for a summer promotion offering great value on Volvo’s C70 hardtop convertible and popular S80 sedan.
Joey Large, Promotional Director of the Costco Auto Program, says, “Consumers are tightening their belts to combat rising fuel prices and other cost-of-living increases. Costco members recognize a deal and are responding to this promotion because of the great savings offered on two quality vehicles.”
While many automakers are struggling in a declining economy, the Costco Auto Program and Volvo Cars of North America are pleased at how well this promotion is being received. The results to date have far surpassed expectations and continue to climb. By receiving $500 off Volvo’s employee price, all available rebates and incentives, an exclusive rebate offer on select Volvo accessories and a $500 Costco Cash card after their vehicle purchase, it’s no surprise that Costco members are taking advantage of this great offer. In addition, this promotion gives Volvo dealerships an opportunity to educate Costco members on other Volvo vehicles – an exclusive benefit not measured in dollars.
With only two weeks left in the promotion, the Costco Auto Program is on track to having two successful Volvo promotions within the last eight months. Large adds, “Despite lack-luster sales across the auto industry, the promotion is going very well and is on track to mirror the results of the December promotion. We look forward to record-breaking sales this summer.”
About The Costco Auto Program:
Headquartered in San Diego, CA, this premier auto-buying service has industry recognition and consistently ranks as the top member-based program available today. The Costco Auto Program has more than 2,400 participating dealerships located throughout the United States offering prearranged member-only pricing on new and Factory-Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.
Positive thinking
May 22, 2010 Uncategorized
Positive thinking is a practice and it requires that you have a certain mental attitude. When you have a positive thinking mindset you automatically have positive thoughts and you continually recite positive affirmations. This process happens automatically.
When you have a positive thinking mindset you almost instantly find answers to even the most complex problems and challenges. Positive thinking is a mindset or attitude that is geared towards automatically expecting things to work out. A person with a Positive Thinking pattern in place expects, believes and trusts that things will always work out and they often do. This is not to be confused with someone who simply says: “Think positive and everything will workout.” Such a person is does not have the proper positive thinking mindset in place. They are simply turning to positive thinking when things go wrong – and by then it’s too late, the damage has been done. Someone who has a positive thinking mindset naturally thinks positive and always foresees happiness, good health, success, and a positive outcome to just about every situation and event that takes place. They also trust and know that they will make the right decision and the right choices. Since they expect it – their mind and subconscious mind find a way to make it happen. This is the power of having a positive thinking mindset. Now I know that not everybody thinks that positive thinking works, and often these are the people who use the concept of positive thinking sporadically or when they need to get out of a jam. That’s not the way positive thinking worse as I just outlined, so if you try this approach don’t expect results. There are also those who believe in positive thinking but don’t know how to properly apply it. These are the people who will say “Think Positive” when you’re down or when things aren’t going well. But the person hearing this phrase has no idea what they mean and so tries to apply it and doesn’t get the result they want.
text sex across pond
May 21, 2010 Uncategorized
Right I am relying on you lot to give me the answer.
I assume that you have realised that I am in UK. Among my blogger friends are many people in USA (yes I know I have some in Australia too). Now you may or may not know that there are times when I enjoy text sex. Not as often now as in the past unfortuntely. But recently I have been invited to share text sex with another blogger who happens to be in USA. We have exchanged numbers but unlike here it isn’t as easy as that.
I know that I can text abroad because I used to exchange text messages with my sweetheart when he was in other parts of the world including Malaysia and Scandinvia as well as Europe (both Eastern and Western). I have also exchanged messages with a former lover who moved to Germany. My former lover has a German sim which he gave me the number of before he went out there so there was no problem with texting although there was sometimes a bit of a time delay but that can happen here too. My sweetheart uses a UK number so I know that works.
Now this is where you come in, do any of you know how I can text a US number and how can he text a UK number? Do we need to add a prefix to the number like phoning a landline needs an international code is it the same for mobile/cell phones. If so what codes are needed?
You never know if you help us out here you might even get to read about some of the resulting text sex that occurrs between us. It might also open the door to more texting with more of you.

Server Hosting Providers
May 14, 2010 Uncategorized
Shopping for server hosting providers is difficult at best, and confusing at the least. It’s even more of a challenge when you don’t know what questions to ask the server hosting providers. Certain features are nice to have, while others can impact the credibility of your website, and ultimately, your business. The priority should always be on gathering the tools that your website needs to perform the tasks required of it. Examples of task-oriented questions to ask web server hosting providers are as follows:
“Do I have access to CGI scripts?” Ask potential web server hosting providers about Common Gateway Interface (CGI) access. CGI is a script function of web server hosting. It is used to transfer data from HTML to an application. Most business websites need to have the ability to generate text boxes and pull down menus that allow visitors to enter requested information. You might request information from visitors so that you can process a purchase, conduct customer service activity, or register new members. Access to CGI scripts requires the permission of the system operator that conducts the server hosting for your site. Since it is difficult to get this permission for unknown programs, you should consider going with a server hosting provider that offers CGI packages that have been pre-approved and pre-written.
“How many email aliases are included in my plan?” Most web server hosting companies give you a certain number of “aliases” you can use. Examples include: sales@yourdomain.com, customerservice@yourdomain.com, or techsupport@yourdomain.com. You need these even if you are one guy working out of a basement office. Email aliases provide customers the perception that you are bigger or more established than you really are. This adds to your professional credibility.
